Meet a Member - Melissa T, Weeks 33 and 34

Week 33 & Week 34

September 23, 2014 and September 30, 2014

Thoughts for the Week…

  • My weight loss seems to be slowing down a bit. For the last two weigh ins I was down 0.6 and 0.8 respectively. Getting closer to my goal though!

  • I went to a school function for my youngest daughter and ran into several teacher friends from her school that commented on how well I looked. Even though I know that almost 65 pounds is a large amount of weight to lose, sometimes I still feel like that fat girl I was at the beginning of the year. Several spots on my body are still quite jiggly and probably always will be. My lower gut roll that is still there, my upper arms that hang down and wiggle, and not to mention my upper thighs that hang off the sides of the toilet are really what make me feel like I am still that fat girl. On the flip side of that, being able to see my collar bone, being able to feel my shoulder bones and fitting into a size of pants that I don’t remember EVER being in make me feel like I’m not that fat girl I was 8 months ago. It’s difficult to keep those sabotaging thoughts out of my mind when those thoughts had once been my truths I lived by.

  • Our bodies tell us that Glutton has had far too much influence in our lives. Marty teaches us tools that help us change that Glutton-influenced mindset that has had a hold of us for so long. Looking back through my Train Your Brain notes, here are some things I need to remember:

    • I must fight back negative thoughts with POSITIVE thinking!
    • I am a WARRIOR!
    • I must give myself credit every time I resist temptation or do something to fill my toolbox.
    • It’s about progress, not perfection.
