Meet a Member - Melissa T. Week 36

Week 36

October 14, 2014

Thoughts for the Week…

  • With such a big loss last week I was kind of expecting a pretty low number. Albeit was lower than the 4 pound loss I saw last week, I was still excited with my loss of another 1.4 pounds because that now puts me at 70 pounds lost total.

  • A few months ago I downloaded a Daily Devotions app on my phone. I receive a message both in the morning and in the evening. I have found that not only do these devotions bring thought into being more God-like, I have also been seeing how they relate to my weight journey and my daily life in general.

    • “And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.” ~ 1 Corinthians 10:10
      • Complaining…an effortless state to be in; however we have a choice to think differently. As I think back 70 pounds ago, I realize I did a lot of complaining and excuse making. “I don’t have time.” “My back hurts.” “I can’t do that.” And on and on and on. Today, I have learned that I need to think POSITIVE. Those feelings of complaining and excuse making were a message for me to make some adjustments in my life. I’m glad I listened to those messages because when I’m positive, my days seem to be so much happier!

  • My challenge for you this week…when you catch yourself complaining about something, change your thinking to what you can/will do to change the situation.
